Finally, you can now purchase sandals and flip-flops, (more commonly known as thongs for your feet in Australia), which provide the feet with a greater degree of support than just your simple, flat sandals and flip flops.
Previously, the only sandals which offered some degree of arch support were the Birkenstock sandals. Unfortunately, this was all shoe companies offered consumers until NOW!
We have just a few images of styles available on this page but we now have
a range of sandals and flip flops that will surprise you.
Here is just one example of the style of footwear and sandals available:
Now the support of open footwear has improved. Podiatry Care and Orthaheel are now offering flip flops (thongs) and sandals which are not only better in regards to support, but they are also more reasonably priced and offer an alternative to the conventional and expensive Birkenstock sandals.
I tried the thongs out myself and I know one thing is certain - I will never go back to wearing standard flat flip flops again. These sandals are so much more comfortable than your normal flip flops which generally have no arch support.
The arch support is what makes them so comfortable. They're a great option if you suffer with heel pain and like to walk around without shoes.
