My dd broke her right big toe couple of days back. The podiatrist reduced it and buddy taped it and they gave her a ski boot to wear. Today i saw a slight purple blue bruise under the toe below the buddy tape. It doesn't hurt much. Is this normal or should i be worried. Also its hard for her to keep still so is it ok if she wears the ski boot when she is sleeping also.
Answer:
Bruising is normal, just make sure the taping is not too tight, otherwise, re-taping may be needed to prevent circulation restriction.
You do not need to sleep with the boot. It is really designed to relieve pressure when walking.
