Hello,
I was walking around the pool yesterday and stubbed my middle toe on my right foot on the concrete. It hurt, but not too bad. Later on in the day, it began hurting worse. I elevated it while watching a movie, then went to bed. It bothered me all night long. When I woke up this morning, it still looks only slightly swollen but there is a bruise on the underside of my toe, exactly where the crease is from the rounded pad area. It looks as if someone took a purple marker and wrote on the underside of my foot. The underside of my foot is where it is swollen most, which makes me want to put weight only on the outside of my foot. I can't really put weight on my foot while it is flat to the ground. I can move it at all joints, though the tip of that toe is rather numb.
Is this worth going to the doctor over?
Yes.
What do you think it could be?
Possibly a broken toe or severe sprain of the toe joint.
Most importantly, how long til it heals?
Six to eight weeks. A Podiatrist can assist with taping or splinting during the healing process if alignment is abnormal.
Thank you!
